FLYWAY
On behalf of Minnesota Flyway I want to thank you for taking some time out and talking to us. Let's begin with where you were born and raised and how you discovered you love for hunting and the great outdoors....
WOLFE
I was born in Oakland Park, Florida and grew up hunting with my Mom and Dad. My Mom went hog, gator, and deer hunting with my Dad until she was 8 months pregnant. After she had me we were back in the woods with my dad within a month! I can remember being packed and waiting on Friday for my Dad to get home from work so we could head to the camp and go hunting and just have a good time! At age 11 we moved to North Florida to a small town called Branford where I continued hunting and fishing. At age fourteen I met my future husband, Brannon, who I married at age 23. He also love’s hunting and the great outdoors. So as you can see, I was raised with a passion for hunting which I still enjoy today!
FLYWAY
What would you say is your favorite animal to hunt, and why?
WOLFE
Well, I’d have to say hog hunting! I grew up hog hunting with my Mom and Dad and now I hog hunt with my husband Brannon. Nothing like a lil dog on hog action!

FLYWAY
I was recently on a golf course in Bonita Springs, Florida. There was this monster alligator hanging out and sunning himself on the first hole, he was huge! I have often wondered what it would be like to hunt one and you have. Is it as big of a rush as it seems to be? Tell us about taking your very first alligator!
WOLFE I have been gator hunting with my dad since I was a little girl and have helped but never killed a gator until I was asked by Razorback Outfitters to do a filmed gator hunt and of course I was excited and said yes! So Brannon and I headed to Orlando, Florida to meet with Eddie, the Owner of Razor Back Outfitters. We waited till dark thirty and headed out on the boat. The first gator we came to went under too soon for me to take a shot! I was using a cross bow with a laser light which was awesome!! When we came up to the second gator I was ready and as we eased up to him. I had the laser light right between his eyes. As soon as he turned to go under I shot and GOT HIM!! The fight was on then!! You asked about a rush and let me tell ya it’s a big one!! As soon as we got him to the boat I had the bang stick ready. Eddie raised him up to the top of the water and BAM I got him right between the eyes dead on!! Last gator season I got another gator with my Dad and Husband!

FLYWAY
Let's say you can go on a dream hunt with any 3 people, alive or deceased. Who are you bringing, where will you be going, and what will you be hunting?
WOLFE
I would bring my husband Brannon, my Dad, and Poppop. My dream hunt would be to hunt Moose in Alaska!
FLYWAY
For some reason hog hunting just does not appeal to me. They look mean and pissed off all the time. I think I would be afraid to hunt them because if I missed the shot they would probably chase me down and make a meal out of me. Am I wrong about hogs? Are they somewhat relaxed and sociable animals or do they just want to devour everything that crosses their paths? I can't imagine they taste all that good either! Your thoughts?
WOLFE
They are known for being aggressive and can be but it does depend on the circumstances. They will devour crops and tear up yards and fields, that’s where we come in. They do taste good!! You haven’t had a rib or pork chop recently have you?? You want to eat a sow or barr, not a boar hog because they do smell very bad and they have a strong smell and taste to them when cooked.

FLYWAY
Have you ever had a dangerous encounter with a hog, or any experience hunting where you actually feared for your life?
WOLFE
Well, I have never had an experience where I feared for my life but I have had a dangerous encounter while Hog hunting with my husband and his friend, Eric Carver. We were hunting hogs with dogs as we always do and we heard the dogs. They had a hog bayed up. We were running through the woods when we came to a thorn thicket and had to crawl on our belly’s under them to the bay. The hog broke and ran at us. Brannon was first and was like ohhh shit! the hog broke! He’s coming for me... and at that point the hog ran over Brannon’s back, then mine and Eric’s. We were all in shock but okay. The dogs got him bayed again and we caught him, cut him and turned him loose.
FLYWAY
For your birthday this year I will be inviting 3 of your favorite bands or singers to perform for you at your party. Who will I be inviting?
WOLFE
George Strait, Luke Bryan, and Miranda Lambert.
FLYWAY
I'm seriously thinking about hunting turkeys for the first time ever. I'm just not convinced I would enjoy it as much as I do duck and goose hunting. Be a salewoman and sell me on the idea. Give me your best salespitch as to why I should try it! Tell me what you like about it and also tell me how challenging you think it is to hunt them. Sell it!
WOLFE
Honestly, I consider myself a real person. To tell you the truth, turkey hunting is my least favorite. Its hard for me to sell you something that I don’t like as much everything else! Don’t get me wrong, I do some turkey hunting but dove hunting and hog hunting has WAY more action and is more fun! So, I’m pretty sure that duck hunting would be more fun than turkey hunting. Sorry if I disappointed you! However, the turkey that I shot last season is a story that can only be told off the record.

FLYWAY
I read that two of your dreams involve having your own hunting show and also having your own line of women's hunting apparel. How close are you to making those dreams a reality?
WOLFE
Those are still my dreams but the opportunity hasn’t presented itself yet. Regarding the hunting show dream, I have been a featured guest hunter in a few shows but ideally I would like to host or co-host a female hunting show but I haven't found the ideal hunting partner. As for the clothing line, I have added a few more designs to my portfolio and have a brand and logo idea but have not launched it yet due to lack of funding. I’m still looking for investors or sponsors to believe in me and my product. I have all confidence that it will appeal to other women and be a smashing success!
FLYWAY
What are one or two animals that you haven't hunted but would really like to?
WOLFE
Moose and believe it or not, ducks! I have never been duck hunting and I would LOVE too!! I love when dove season comes in and I can only imagine that duck hunting is just as much fun!
FLYWAY
What is your favorite gun to hunt with?
WOLFE
I’d have to say my 20 ga shotgun. It was my first gun but it was my grandpas gun and he gave it to my dad and then it was given to me.
FLYWAY
What is your favorite meal?
WOLFE
Well, to me there ain't nothing better than some fried deer meat with taters and gravy!
FLYWAY
Your favorite movie of all time is....
WOLFE
Lonesome Dove, of course!
FLYWAY
In closing, are you satisfied with the number of women hunters and women involved in the hunting industry, or do you feel we can do a better job to get them more involved?
WOLFE
I feel there is more and more women getting into hunting every day. I think the key to getting even more women involved is actually taking them hunting and letting them see what it’s like and experience the rush of getting their first kill!
