  Willie Robertson
Duck Commander

FLYWAY
What was the first duck you ever shot and what kind of gun did you shoot it with?

ROBERTSON
Don't even remember the first duck, as kids we just shot as many times as we could and picked em all up. Dad never was big on who killed or bragging much about it. It was always a "team" effort.  As far as gun, I will say I love my Benelli, my memory is fogging on the old guns.
FLYWAY
What is one duck you haven't shot, but really want to?

ROBERTSON
Cinnamon Teal

FLYWAY
What is one thing you NEVER hunt without?

ROBERTSON
Bottle of Water

FLYWAY
Have you ever hunted or visited Minnesota?

ROBERTSON
Never hunted there, but have visited several times. I hit baseballs at the Metrodome in batting practice, shot weapons at Federal Ammunition in Anoka, was on the floor at the Republican convention in St. Paul, and flew in an hour before the bridge fell.  So I have some history with Minnesota, love that place, love the people.  The first production scene ever shot for the Duck Commander tv show was in the lobby of a hotel in Coon Rapids.  The scene or trip did not make the show but the production started in MN.  (the scene was me sewing a hole in my jeans up with a little kit I bought in the hotel)

FLYWAY
What is your favorite duck to hunt?

ROBERTSON
Widgeon

FLYWAY
Do you have a favorite gun and duck call that you hunt with?

ROBERTSON
My Benelli SBE 2 is hard to beat.  I don't call a whole lot, if that doesn't make sense then you should hunt with Phil and Jase and see how much calling you can do. Na, I would take one of our hen calls, maybe a duck picker.

FLYWAY
Are there things you see or hear about other waterfowl hunters doing that bother you?

ROBERTSON
Not really.  I don't like folks that put their rules on others.  We got a big ole rule book from the game wardens, we don't need that added to by others.  Abide by the laws and have fun with the sport.

FLYWAY
If you could go on a duck hunt with 3 people of your choice, who would they be?

ROBERTSON
John Scrabo (CEO of Badboy buggies) He is the guy that makes me laugh.  He and I sat on a levee one time shooting ducks after we challenged Phil and Jase that we could kill more than them.  We won too.  Kyle Tengwall (Director of Marketing Federal Ammunition)  He and I are great friends and love talking about the business side of hunting.  We play golf several times a year but we have never hunted together.  Very good sense of humor.  And Pres. Obama.  Now let me explain.  I really think if I had him for few hours on a hunt he would hopefully understand how great hunting is.  I would challenge him to let hunters continue to have the freedoms we love.  I'm not saying he does not believe that, I would just love for him to experience it.  Certainly would not hurt our cause.

FLYWAY
Do you think Brett Favre should return for one more year with the Minnesota Vikings?

ROBERTSON
Funny you mention Favre, everyone asks me if I know him since he is from where I live.  I did meet him once and I got to say he was not that friendly.  Now, I do not hold that against him, could have just been a bad day, we all have them.  I know he loves to fish and I guess hunt.  I think he should NO DOUBT come back.  I love watching him.  I got to go to a Packers/Vikings game last year in cheesehead land.  Unbelievable.  I loved Favre when he was in Green Bay and I love him with the Vikings.  Keep going as long as you can big boy.  And yes, I did have a purple Favre jersey on in Green Bay.
